Description:
This young mare (she is 7 coming 8 in 2013) has only been running barrels for 2 years, and she is just now starting to show her true potential. She has run and placed in the 1D at some really tough races like the Salina, Ut, X-treme races. The last one in August had about 450 entries, and she was in the top 15. You can check out the results at www.horseeventsinc.com. They also had a webcast and you can watch our runs from Friday #20 and Saturday #193. At the Aug 2011 race I placed 7th in the x-treme 15 race out of the top 40 or so runners at the Blackhawk.
I started this mare under saddle as a 3-yr-old. She was a late bloomer so I didn't push her. I didn't even start her on the barrels until fall of her 4-yr-old year. Where we live there are no races to go to in the winter, so she always got turned out. Her first jackpot was in July of 2010, and I have just brought her along slowly. Last winter I spent 5 weeks in Buckeye, Az, and we were placing in the 2D. She ran a 17.4 on the big standard pattern at the Greg Olson, and she was just high loping to first. Since then I have been pushing her to the first barrel and she has been winning and placing in the 1D consistently. I won the Racing In The Rockies Race Sept 1, 2012, in Eagle, CO. You can check the results at www.racingintherockies.com I ran her at two pro rodeos in the performance this summer to see how she would handle the crowd noise and the bulls loaded in the chutes. She did great. We weren't in the money, but she didn't get rattled at all. She did look around a bit, but she just needs to be seasoned to the rodeos more. I do have those runs on youtube.
I train horses, so I have to go where I can take a trailer full. This mare is ready to go on to bigger things. I have several youtube videos of her. You can look them up by my username on youtube: ckavaritte. She is a push style horse and I think an aggressive rider would work the best. She is extremely smooth and very well broke. No issues. Give me a call if you have questions.
